The holiday shopping season has now concluded. The rhythm of the new year is settling in, and it is time to re-examine the topic of e-commerce and consumerism as 2018 takes off. As integration with online practices become increasingly fundamental, the number of failed brick and mortars add up. In 2017, the number of brick and mortars that had plans to shut down was higher than ever, even higher than during the 2008 economic recession, Fortune Magazine reported.(3)
